In Collider interviewed Alex Pettyfer where stated:
Interviewer: The other day it was reported that Culpleppe Screen Gems' Clint said he continued touring in The Mortal Instruments unless signed for the male role (Jace Wayland) Are you INTERESTED in doing so? Are you close to signing?
Alex: Did not do it without me? When do you say that?
Interviewer: You've said a couple of days ago that he would not do the movie if you're not
